Health Insurance: What are my next steps in securing healthcare coverage for me and my family
Prevention is key to a Healthy Life Style

As a licensed Healthcare agent healthcare coverage changes from year to year and like every other industry in todays global economy prices are going up.
If you've never had coverage open enrollment under 64 years of age starts November 1, 2025 .
You can apply, renew or switch plans. If you've already had coverage and lost coverage you do not have to wait until November 1, 2025.
Tip #1 - Know your timeline
Remember if you are leaving a employee group plan HR Benefits dept should inform you via email or mail or on company website of how much time after ending coverage you have to enroll in another plan. This could be 30 or 60 days. * COBRA is costly and time varies in different states 18-36 months.
*You can also call your HR benefits dept as they are busy with other non active and active employees and correspondence may take longer it should not however; it happens.
Tip #2 - Marketplace Exchange/Insurance Company
Marketplace exchange healthcare coverage for ages 64 and under are in these categories:
Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum with tax credits if you are eligible and of course income is a factor.
More insurance companies are signing up individuals and families directly from their website or you can contact a licensed Healthcare agent appointed with insurance company.
"Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom; and with all thy getting get understanding ." – Proverbs 4:7
Tip #3 - How much does the plans cost
Ages 26 and under can remain on parent/guardian coverage.
If you know you do not visit providers often or take medication and paying premium right now is not in your budget choosing a bronze plan may help some plans have no monthly premium for all ages under 64 years.
However; what's important is the benefits the plan covers and when you need to use benefits can you pay your cost share?
Tip #4 - Rx medication/ Health benefits
Pharmacy benefits can be expensive even with a Rx plan, check out the manufacture of the medication they may have a co-pay program to help with costs. Also some foundation can help with healthcare costs. https://findhelp.org/search_results/73301
Enter your zip code and you will see tabs for different services
Tip #5 - Due Diligence
I encourage everyone to check your benefits from this year and what will change for next year.
Being proactive is less stressful then reacting to a surprise like higher costs, benefit is no longer covered or your medication is on the recall list.
